Julie Gross: Color and Places
March 26, 2019
March 26 - April 27, 2019
Reception: April 6 from 3 - 5 PM
Travel helps connect us with the simple pleasures in life: a sunset, taking a walk, enjoying the sights and sounds of a place you’ve never been before. Julie's newest works explore the idea of removing the complexity from the places she visits, leaving only the brightly colored memories. Negativity surrounds much of our world: through politics, environmental issues, and senseless violence. She chooses to make her work a simple, less complex body of work.
Leah Lewman: Fire and Flood
February 26, 2019
February 26 - March 24, 2019
Reception: Friday, March 15 from 4 - 6 PM
The earth is constantly changing. With the toll that humans are taking on the planet, nature seems to be defending itself with geological extremes – fire and water. Nothing has made Leah more aware of this than the repeated flooding of her own hometown - Ellicott City. Humanity has tried its best to create solid, unchanging cityscapes to safely house the growing population, but at a certain point, nature always seems to take back what was rightfully hers.
20% of Leah's commission will be donated to the Ellicott City Partnership
