Anne McLaughlin’s first love is printmaking, and thus, it wins most of her attention. She is also an oil painter.  Working mostly in Relief, Anne thrives on the challenges of reduction woodcuts, clay monoprints, clay-plate collagraphs, Eco prints, gelli prints and an occasional linocut. She has done extensive 3-plate color etchings along with black and white. However, the mystery of the final image while carving a clay plate or adding clay slips to build a print along with exploring the mixology of colors is irresistible to her. Clearly experimenting in printmaking is her present and future vision.

Although she has her own printing presses, Anne does most of her printing in the Aqua Regia Printmaking Lab at Anne Arundel Community College and in Martha Griffin’s studio in Seaford, DE.

Anne is a current member of the Artists’ Gallery of Ellicott City; Working Artists Forum, Easton, MD; Anne Arundel Community College Printmaking Club, Arnold; Kent Island Federation on Art (KIFA), Kent Island; and Rehoboth Art League, Rehoboth, DE.

When a member of the Washington Printmakers Gallery (Washington, DC), she had solo shows and participated in theme shows. Her work is often displayed in shows at the Galleries at Quiet Waters Park and Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis. Other venues for her work were shows at the River Gallery, Chestertown; Chesapeake College, Wye Mills; Easton Public Library, Easton; Chesapeake Maritime Museum, St. Michaels; AM Gravely Gallery, St. Michaels; Tidewater Inn, Easton; Maryland Federation of Arts, Annapolis; and University of Maryland University College.
