Laura Migasiuk is a Polish American artist. She is also an internal medicine doctor who has reawakened her passion for art.
From an early age, Laura was constantly immersed in the creative process. Oil paint, brushes, and charcoal dust were a common part of her day to day. However, this changed once the responsibilities of college, medical school, and residency took over her life. For various reasons, art took a backseat for many years.
It was time for a change.
By intentionally setting aside time to pursue art, she has gained opportunities such as commissions, collaborations, and now, gallery membership. She works primarily in watercolor and ink, creating art grounded in realism while retaining the expressive qualities of the medium rather than photographic precision. A wide range of subjects—including horses, figures, landscapes, still lifes, florals, etc—is unified through a harmonized palette and by capturing mood and stillness. Her work celebrates the space between worlds—Poland and Maryland, art and medicine—embracing a practice that refuses to be confined to a single box.
