Artists’ Gallery Joins AOS Tour with Member Participation

Artists’ Gallery of Ellicott City is proud to be a sponsor of the 2026 Artists Open Studios Tour, a county-wide event that invites the public to step inside working artist studios and experience the creative process firsthand. As part of this tour, several gallery members are also participating artists, opening their studio spaces to visitors.

Hima Jain (Hima's Studio, 10301 Wilde Lake Terrace, Columbia, MD) will present her detailed pencil portraits, capturing expression and personality through careful observation and refined mark-making.

Hima's work focuses on the subtleties of form and emotion, inviting viewers to slow down and engage closely with each piece.

Lisa Scarbath (Resident Artist, HoCo Arts, 8360 Court Ave, Studio 39, Ellicott City, MD) will open her studio to share her intricate mosaic work, where carefully placed fragments come together to form expressive compositions.

Lisa's practice reflects a deep engagement with material, pattern, and storytelling, offering visitors a closer look at the precision and patience behind mosaic art.

Nishita Jain (Resident Artist, HoCo Arts, 8360 Court Ave, Studio 35, Ellicott City, MD) will welcome visitors into her studio, where she creates atmospheric watercolor landscapes that explore light, mood, and the quiet rhythms of nature.

Nishita's process often begins with loose, fluid washes, allowing forms to emerge gradually, resulting in paintings that balance structure with spontaneity.

HoCo Arts studios will be open Saturday, April 11 from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday, April 12 from 12 PM to 4 PM.

The Artists Open Studios Tour offers a unique opportunity to move beyond the gallery setting and experience art where it is created. Visitors can engage directly with artists, gain insight into their processes, and see a wide range of work across the region.
