Celebrating Art and Renewal: Artists' Gallery's Spring Exhibitions

As winter gives way to the warmth and renewal of spring, Artists' Gallery proudly presents two vibrant exhibitions: "Blossoms of Hope" (February 24 – March 30, 2025) and our March–April Members’ Show (February 24 – April 27, 2025). These shows bring together a diverse collection of artwork celebrating beauty, resilience, and artistic exploration.

Join us for the opening reception on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 2–5 PM, where you can meet the artists, experience their latest creations, and immerse yourself in the energy of the season.

The exhibitions showcase a range of styles and mediums, from intricate woodcuts and mixed-media collages to stunning paintings and finely crafted wood art. Here’s a glimpse of some of the remarkable pieces featured in the shows:

Indigo Bunting in Crabapple by Ellen Corddry

This intricately crafted woodcut captures the delicate beauty of an indigo bunting perched among crabapple blossoms. The artist skillfully balances fine detail with bold contrasts, bringing depth and focus to the composition.

"This woodcut is based on the crabapple tree in my yard. I did a detailed watercolor study to plan the composition."

Kitchen Bouquet by Diane Dunn

This vibrant floral composition bursts with expressive energy, capturing the delicate yet dynamic movement of the petals through bold colors and fluid watercolor techniques. The interplay of soft washes and confident outlines adds a sense of depth and liveliness, making the bouquet feel fresh and full of life.

"This bouquet was sitting on the windowsill in my kitchen on a rather gray day. I loved the way the brightness of the flowers contrasted with the subdued neutrals of background. Watercolor on Yupo is a free-flowing medium that I always enjoy when I want to do a painting that is fresh and not overworked."

Vegas Sphere Interior by John Stier

A striking image capturing the futuristic grandeur of this technological marvel, where architecture and innovation merge.

"I was overwhelmed by the lobby's unique and futuristic design. The challenge was to capture the enormity of the scale while showing the details of the space."

Fascination Bowl by Gene Adcock

A beautiful spalted maple bowl, turned on a lathe, and finished with not-toxic/food safe oil finish.

"I crafted this bowl from a locally reclaimed, downed tree, giving it a new life as a unique piece of art."

Gorgeous Glow by Amanda Milliner

A captivating study of light and composition, where backlit fruit and flowers glow with warmth and vitality.

"My inspiration for this piece is the beautiful backlighting that makes the fruit and flowers glow. In the Winter, days are shorter and natural light changes even faster, so I had to paint this piece over several days to get the desired effect."

A New Day Dawns by Nishita Jain

This luminous watercolor captures the fleeting magic of early morning light, a moment of quiet reflection as the world awakens.

"I wanted to evoke the fleeting essence of misty mornings, letting the fluidity of watercolor create soft transitions between light and atmosphere. I used spontaneous, energetic brushstrokes to add movement and depth, allowing the scene to emerge organically."
