Joan Forester

The art of silver print photography has captured my interest for a long time. I have been
a wet darkroom artist in an age of digital imagery .I am still excited to see the magic that
takes places with film and chemistry. I am intrigued with the sculptural effect that black
and white images make when printed well.
Creating the image in the camera, shooting the frames, developing film, getting the
desired image in print is most rewarding. This hands on, step by step process keeps me
close to to the art just that much longer.
Trying to find a unique image has led me to experimenting with hand tinting, paper
options and looking for unusual subjects in the lens.
