Marian Gliese

A native of Denmark and a 10+ years member of The Artist's Gallery. Her background is a MS in Pharmacy and art classes at MiCA and Corcoran. Marian paints oil paintings on canvas in a somewhat naive style that is uniquely her own.

"My artwork is an interpretation of the way I experience nature and in my paintings I isolate and simplify natural objects in order to emphasize their artistic value and express my feelings. Most of my paintings start out with a pencil sketch made purely from imagination and from information collected in my memory. Choosing colors I try to stay within the range that is found in nature, but at the same time emphasizing the passionate expression I am striving for. Many of my paintings are boldly colorful with an organic flow of forms. The style of my artwork is very feminine but at the same time strong and direct."
