Nishita Jain: In the Studio and Beyond

This spring, a series of developments has been marked in the work of Nishita Jain, spanning national recognition, studio activity, and exhibition presence.

Nishita's painting, Lingering Light, has been selected as a finalist in Splash: The Best of Watercolor, a national publication recognizing excellence in contemporary watercolor.

As part of the Artists Open Studios Tour, Nishita's studio at HoCo Arts (8360 Court Ave, Studio 35, Ellicott City, MD) will be open to visitors. Works in progress and recently completed paintings are being presented, offering insight into the evolving process behind her atmospheric watercolor landscapes. HoCo Arts studios will be open Saturday, April 11 from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday, April 12 from 12 PM to 4 PM.

Work by Nishita has also been included in the Resident Studio Artists Exhibit at the Howard County Arts Council (April 10 – May 23, 2026, Gallery I). A reception will be held on April 16 from 6 to 8 PM.

Visitors are invited to experience the work in person, both within the studio setting and through exhibition opportunities this season.
