Three different Eco-Friendly wood artists, inspired by nature, landscapes, geometry, and a healthy dose of pizazz, are bonded by the joy of wood and quality hand crafting. Each show piece of jewel boxes, round wood turnings, and two-dimensional woodcuts is an exploration and experiment in technique, idea, craft, and material, ranging from subtle to striking.

This 2022 show has watermedia interwoven with the love of poetry expressing the theme “ A River Runs Through”. This series of work based on Ellicott City and the Tiber River is comprised of landscapes, interiors and still lifes, subtlety abstracted, showing the artist’s love of water, rocks and Maryland.

Photo Encaustic Artist Karen Jury gives her interpretation on the world around her. From Maryland, to Utah; trees, mountains, waterfalls, beaches and more set the tone and background to her art. She has a special way of showcasing the subject. Karen’s work starts with one of her photos, but her use of wax, heat, texture and pigments, helps to create a unique feeling to each piece.

The Artists’ Gallery of Ellicott City invites visual artists (both 2D and 3D) to submit original work for our juried show. All accepted artwork will be on display and available for online purchase on our website. Award winners will be displayed in our physical gallery. Artists 18 or older living or working in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia area are eligible to apply.
