Jessica McGrath creates jewelry that captures the rhythm of travel, memory, and place. Her work reflects a deep fascination with color, texture, and geometric form—especially the circle, which recurs throughout her designs as a symbol of connection, movement, and continuity. Shaped by years of moving between coastal cities as both a military spouse and artist, her aesthetic balances structure with spontaneity, precision with intuition.
Trained in metals at Monterey Peninsula College, McGrath works in enamel, gemstones, silver, and gold, incorporating techniques such as keum-bo, granulation, etching, and patination. Influenced by travel, architecture, and surface detail, she draws from photographs and collected textures, embedding landscapes and moments into metal—turning memory into surface and experience into form.
Through Studio JmcG, she creates contemporary, wearable jewelry that reflects both process and place. Her work is shown nationally at art fairs and in galleries, and is available online. Each piece is designed to feel considered yet personal—an object that holds both form and story.
McGrath is also an active member of the arts community, serving on the board of Artist Open Studios and as Vice President of the Annapolis Arts Alliance, where she supports fellow artists through collaboration and advocacy.
